Java Moss problems

I had heard that java moss was easy to keep and grow etc so I ordered some about two weeks ago. It arrived at the beginning of last week and was wrapped in a glorified paper towel and inserted into a plastic bag. I put it in my 20 gal as soon as I got it and it was brown, like dead grass. I was wondering will this stuff perk up after a while or did I get screwed?

Everytime I order Java Moss it always arrives to me as what looks like a dead brown ball. It does and will perk up, for me that takes a few weeks. Once it starts growing it takes off pretty well.

Thanks for the reply that makes me feel a lot better. I got a good deal, it was about 2 1/2 cups for $6 on eBay.

Ha! That IS a good deal. I paid five bucks for about 1/2 cup. I'm always getting ripped off!

EVERYTHING costs more in California, but I'm not complaining. I love where I live.

I know when I was a truck driver we always dreaded going to CA because fuel was so much more there than every where else. We always tried to have enough fuel to get in deliver our load and get back out with out haveing to get fuel.

I grew up in San Diego and moved out of state in 2004. It's a shock everytime I go back and have to buy gas etc.

Tell me about it. I drive a V8 Tundra. It's a great truck but it sure gets lousy gas mileage. I'm thinking about seriously down sizing on my next vehicle.
