I... Don't know. Looking at the ingredients they don't seem useless. And I know they do last a couple weeks. I've read they've got mostly calcium and not a significant amount of other nutrients..esp NPK.

I don't know what the plants specifically need, but I think I might start buying root tabs from aquariumplants.com They are cheaper than flourish and the plants I got from them were in excellent condition.. Assuming the fertilize with their own product.
