Im looking for a grass like plant.

Im starting a planted tank for my betta sorority and some neons. Its a 10g with a 15 watt eclipse florescent light. I was looking at getting some plants Ive seen in pictures that resemble grass, like hair grass and stuff. But Ive read that most of them are high-light plants. So does anyone know any grass-like plants that thrive in low light. If not any recommendations for other plants.

Lilaeopsis mauritius is a micro sword species that can grow in lower light. AquaBotanic usually has some.

You might have sufficient light if you want to give hairgrass a try; 15w over a 10g is more intense than it would be over a 20g, and the shallower tank means more light penetrates through the water.

I'm only familiar with Eleocharis species (common hairgrass) and the very similar-looking Lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae (New Zealand grassplant) which are as you've mentioned both described as bright or strong light requiring plants. There are other low-growing plants that tolerate lower light but they are not grass-like in appearance.

A couple of plants come to mind from this photo. Possibly Blyxa japonica or Echinodorus tenellus. I have the latter in both my aquaria, and it grows different leaf sizes according to the degree of light. In my tanks with minimal light (1 watt per gallon) it looks like this but with lower plants (3-4 inches in height max), as you can se in my aquarium photos.

The plant fishkid mentioned (Lilaeopsis mauritius) is similar, here'a a photo from the site he referenced; they have others on foreground plants, you might want to check them out.

chain swords use moderate lighting instead of high light. I have a couple in my tank and they're doing fine even when my tank is only around .75w per gallon.
