^-^ Thank you.
I'm worried I've given them quite a hard time, especially the vallisneria (if I'm correct, that's the one in the back right)..
Already its leaves are looking a little on the battered side.
Presumably it's best just to leave them be and hope though.

Probably still getting used to the new water from what they were in at the store. You will need liquid fertilizer as mentinoed earlier in this thread, when you get it give them one dose as indicated on the label.

The only one I would be worried about is cabomba... It seems to like a bit more light...
Of course it could just be a heavy feeder..

The only reason I bring it up is my first tank was unfertilised... The anarchis, vallis, and swordplant (which looks more like a crypt almost.. but they are treated the same) do fine in my tank, the cabomba wilted and died. (Was probably the lack of ferts, so no worries)

Also, this might make it easier to know which is which.

BTW, they weren't 100% wrong, the anarchis is hardy in coldwater and tropical. The others are tropical. :P

Thank you very much for the labels! Should have done something similar myself. I'm going to print it out and put it next to the tank until I remember them on my own accord~

=/ It'd be a shame if the cabomba died. I'll keep an eye on it. But the vallisneria and the swordplant are the ones I like the most so as long as they're ok, I can replace the others with something more suitable.

^-^ In the end I just took back a faulty gravel cleaner but I've found a much better shop to go to in future.

Your plants look fantastic! So much nicer in the gravel. I absolutely LOVE Cabomba, I hope yours does well in your tank. It did good in my tank after a slow start, filled out like a Chrismas tree forext, then I had a few fish in there that chose to eat the bulk of it. I am hoping the remaining bits can fill out again. I think it is so pretty. All of my fish really seemed to enjoy hanging out in and around it as well.

Now... On to fish. :) Do you know what you will be getting?

Thank you Inga.
Not a patch on your tank though =')

To be honest the more I research fish, the more confused I become.
I'm thinking of possibly starting off with some neon tetra though - or something similar.
I don't suppose you'd have any suggestions?

Sorry, I am not sure what that means?

I love Neon Tetras. I am not sure how large your tank is but in reading the description the minimum tank size is at least 24 inches across. They need swimming space. They are absolutely beautiful fish and honestly, I wish I had started with a dozen or so of them in my tank. I can't get them though as I have some fish that would be too aggressive with them.

They need to be in a shoal of at least 6 but my understanding is, the more the better with the Tetras. That would be lovely to have a shoal of those and then some Cory's on the bottom. Cory's also need to be in a group. It would really be a fun tank to watch. Cory's are so playful and can be very entertaining.

It means "not nearly as good as your tank"

What sort of water do you have? Maybe consider the ember tetras (it says they like soft water) and also dwarf cories like corydoras habrosus for the bottom/middle? (I'm no expert - if someone knowledgeable tells you that it's a daft idea, listen to them, not to me....)

Yes, the plants are looking good. They'll look even better when they are established.

^ Yep. =)

It's a 30 litre tank - about 15 inches across & the depth is 8 1/2 inches. =/

I think we've got quite hard water, we use a water softener for most of the taps in the house but that's no good since that makes the water slightly saline. (which I think does more harm than good - my hair is an absolute nightmare. xD)

^-^ Ember tetras look good. And the cories. I'll have to see if I can find them though~
