Question Identification of plant, please?

I bought a plant. Unfortunately, the shop doesn't label anything and none of the staff knows what anything is. I just got it because I liked the look of it. Does anyone know what it is?

That'd be right - I've stuck it in my little betta tank Never mind, I'll brutally prune it if necessary, or pull it out and stick it in one of the other tanks (or the compost bin if it's too annoying). It's quite good fun being brave and just giving things a go. Failure doesn't really worry you so much. (Maybe the guppies can have it, seeing as they've already eaten the plant I put in with them....)

Hmm. Do you have proper lighting on the guppy tank?
For me, guppies only eat dying plant matter...

It is quite brightly lit. As to whether it is the "right" type of lighting I don't know (It's a compact fluorescent type). They ate it the minute it went in, it was fresh from the shop, green and healthy-looking, so if it was dying, I'd say that it was pretty early on in the process.
