Of course, don't add MG to a tank with living things in it...

And be sure to rinse the algae thoroughly. (through some fabric or a fine fish net)

Also, add a bit of dechlorinator to the water you rinse the algae with... MG can contain chlorine.

lol I think dirty water and ferts is the better way to go...MG just seems like a hassle..but it IS an option
