Grrrr

I just drove an hour away to get some plants and fish, I asked for 3 anubias and was excited to get home to put them in my tank only to find I had 2 Echinodorus Rosea, which I'm assuming is some sort of Sword and 1 Anubia. The trouble is, my 12 gallon only has a t8 15 watt bulb and the other tank has a 27 watt 6500k desk lamp, from my experience with swords I know they require a lot of light, so I'm assuming these are going to die? which means more money down the drain

swords should do ok in your setup. some root tabs might be useful though as they are heavy root feeders though

Echinodorus x Rose is a nice plant. I bet it will do fine.

BTW, the tank with the desk lamp... What wattage do you have?
You could pop a 23W or 30W CFL in there I bet.

Yeah, it is a nice plant but I'm just not having much luck with the Amazon swords and would hate these plants to be a fail as well lol.

The desk lamp is a 27W daylight bulb. That's the maximum it will hold.

Also, I had Java fern which I didn't realise until I got in had black roots, so I cut them all of and tried to attach it to my driftwood but it was no use, so I now have them planted into their little plastic pots but with the gravel from the tank so that they don't float around. Will they be OK? most of the leaves had big patches of black on them so I'm also wondering what they weren't being fed at the pet store. The Java fern is in my 12 gallon, with the t8 15W bulb.

From this day forward, I am never letting another human select my plants !! haha

Java Ferns ALWAYS have black roots. ;)

Tie it to driftwood with some string. It wakes practice, but it'll work.
I wouldn't leave it in the pot.
