Is this a good idea?

My betta recently died of fin rot and I have taken the plants from his tank and put them in a bucket of clean water with Tetra Plantamin and Tetra General Tonic. I was wondering whether I could put these into my 12 gallon tank with 4 fighter females, 6 peppered corydoras, 6 tetras and a snail. Would this be safe, or should I just throw them in the bin?

I hope no one saw what I just posted. I had entirely too many tabs open.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about the Fin Rot being contagious....
Fin Rot is caused by a fungus, but the fungus is present in just about any aquarium. (Just like we have staph growing on our skin all the time.)

The problem is if there is an injury, there's a slight chance of an infection. If they have a weakened immune system, or if the injury happens frequently, both raise the risk significantly.

I would post the list of plants here... Some plants that seem soft to us can be rough or pointy enough to damage a betta's fragile fins... So check the plants. They may have given your betta fin damage, thus allowing the fungus to set in.

Sorry if I repeated myself a bit too much.
