My hornwort in the 5G has covered the back wall fo the tank on it's own. I thought I pulled it all out two weeks ago, but bam. full coverage a few inches think again.
When you say "wall" did you get it to actually cover the back of the tank, or was it floating like in this pic? I'd love to have something grow up the back of my tank besides algae. I don't want to be bothered with tieing things down though.
My Riccia fluitans is small pieces, and it doesn't actually attach to rock/wood, rather you have to use a loose netting to hold it in place. That doesn't look like anything that I have in me tanks. Not sure what it is.
Hmm... The hornwort or whatever it is doesn't attach to anything either... It only grows along the back wall because the back wall gets a fair bit of sunlight. Perhaps it can't compete with the duckweed for the suface. It didn't grow floating like that, it just floats after I rip it off of the back wall of my 5g.
I've narrowed it down- it's either riccia with some hornwort in it, or hornwort with some riccia in it.
Of course, the only reason it's covering the back wall is because it's a NPT, and gets sunlight on that side. (It's in a window. Look at my aquarium log for my 5G. Can't see the hornwort though.)
im pretty sure now that its just an overgrown form (because of the NPT) Riccia.i had an aponogeton that the leaves changed texture 100% when it was put into the tank
