Flourish ??

Hey guys...need some input.

I stocked up on some supplies last time I was as the LFS...

My Flourish "Comprehensive Supplement" is finally running out... and I pull out the new bottle and it's not the same stuff. It says... Flourish "Excel" and to use it every 2 days.

Could someone explain the difference and/or do I need to get the other one too and use them together?

Excel is a liquid carbon (Co2) and is not fertilizer.
So with that said is best to get Comprehensive again. Now you can use both together but keep in mind that Excel can make certain plants like Vals melt. Also if used improperly can be harmful to fish.

Dang!!

I have Giant Vals in there. Would hate to see anything happen to them.

Used improperly...? What would be an example of that? Too much, too often?

Yeah too much.

Some ppl say if you don't do the first major dose like the instructions say that the Vals do ok. Wasn't the luck I had with my Jungle Vals tho. It melted them.

Ok good, cause I'm conservative and tend to do things on the bottom end of the scale anyway. Thanks for the input!!

If you use it let us know your experience with it please.

do not add into water over the vals.if you have poor circulation ,dilute the excel first.use half doses and work your way up.

Thanks for all the info!!... I went back after reading here and re read the bottle. One cap full first dose for each 40 L... not 40 Gallons... so all I gave the 75 Gallon tank to start with was ONE cap full TOTAL. One CAP for 40 gallons. So I did not heavy dose and I'll keep an eye out. I will also dilute into a jug of tank water first. I do that with the Comprehensive too.

Good information. I didn't really know that there are 2 types of "Flourish". I'll make sure that I read the label when I need to get more.
