Floating Plants + Overflow

I got a few free Amazon Frogbits as stowaways with some other plant purchases a while back, I want to put them in my new tank, but the new tank has an overflow and anything on the surface insantly flows straight to it.

Has anyone else overcome this? I think maybe I could tie it in place with some 6x fly line tippet? I'd like it to float aroud as it pleased, but this seems like the only way I could keep it from constantly being stuck to the overflow grate. If anyone else has a different solution, please chime in!

Thanks!

My tank has the exact problem. Had I known I may have purchased a tank with no overflow! I've even had a few fish go up and over and it's no fun trying to get them safely out of the prefilter compartment without hurting them.
I use a suction cup, tie some fishing line around it, then the floating pants are anchored in place loosely. Sort of like your idea, as I couldn't come up with anything else either. My way does work nicely, though.
