dwarf hairgrass speading soooo slow....

Ive had dwarf hairgrass in my tank for about a year. I purchased a single pot of it a year ago and planted each segment in my 10 gallon , 2watt per gallon tank with flourite gravel, heavily planted, flourish comprehensive dosed tank. everyhthing else grows awesome! I attached (glued) a broken up marimo ball along 2 pieces of driftwood in my aquarium (BEAUTIFUL EFFECT!). Even my java fern is growing ...rather quickly for a fern.

so anyway.... for a year, i woulda expected the hairgrass to have...gee i dont know, formed a carpet by now?

I have read that Eleocharis acicularis is slow-growing, and needs intense light and does best under 25C/77F. I've not tried it myself, as I am fairly certain my light is not sufficient.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

I have hairgrass in one of my 10 gallon aquariums under 23 watts of light (brackish tank, actually) and it does grow slow... What kind of gravel do you use? Hairgrass does MUCH better in sand or another fine substrate..

Also, trimming it can speed up it's growth and encourage runners.
