So I'm in college doing biology and we were doing a few experiments with duckweed (fooling with nitrogen and phosphorus levels and so on). By the end of the experiment I had some nice healthy duckweed left over. I sort of like the way it looks and I think it would look neat in my aquarium... but would it be a bad idea to throw it in?
I've got a divided ten gallon tank with two bettas in it. It's very well filtered and I change water weekly. I don't have any other live plants in the tank at the moment.
So would it hurt anything to put the duckweed in the tank? I know that it might or might not live, considering I'm not a great botanist or anything.
