Dosing fertilizers after using Prime?

I know this question has come up somewhere sometime but my phone doesn't allow me to search the site to well. I been using Prime for about the last month. Mainly because the bottle was given to me and it is all I have at the moment. Now I know Prime neutralizes Ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates along with heavy metals up to 36 - 48 hours. So with that said is it best to wait 48hrs before dosing fertilizers?

I always dose pretty much at the same time. Primes ability to bind heavy metal is pretty limited. I also dose EI so I highly doubt it can bind everything I add. Since the binding is only temporary I don't see why it matters.

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk

I took this question to Seachem some time back when it came up in a thread, and I was told that Prime and Flourish used together would cause the minerals in Flourish to be rendered useless to plants. Prime they said is effective in all respects for 36-48 hours. Their advice was to wait at least 24 hours before using any nutrient supplement, or to be absolutely certain, 48 hours.

They did also say that the heavy metal detoxifying of Prime is geared to trace amounts, such as would normally be encountered in tap water, and not significant levels of any metal which Prime is not able to deal with.

I dose Flurish the day folllowing the water change (I don't use Prime, but my conditioner does detoxify heavy metals). May be over cautious, but I assume Seachem know their products.

Well okay then, Thanks Byron! I generally never dose the fertilizers the same day as the water change anyways. I did a water change yesterday and a much needed trimming. So I will dose the fertilizer tomorrow. I am also planning on getting a different water conditioner this weekend as I don't like waiting 48 hrs later to dose fertilizers. Too likely to forget durning that period of time. LoL

I do my water changes on all three tanks every Saturday morning then dose their respective ferts(fresh)/supplements(salt) the following day.

I try to keep it on Sunday (usually a for sure day off. Though not usually here lately). Then will generally dose on Monday. Using Prime is going to get me all out of wack! LoL I plan on dosing tomorrow along with adding some Root tablets (Yes I know was suppose to have already added those!) that have been sitting under my tank for like a week now. Was wanting to wait till my next water change before adding thin so I could do some trimming to get to the substrate.
