Do live plants affect PH?

Im planning to switch to live plants, but researching everything before I do. I have a high ph of 8.2-8.4 and was wondering if live plants will make it fluctuate up/down?

Nope. If you don't do water changes, then they might change a little, but nothing significant. Since you have hard water it probably won't change at all.

Might be tricky to find plants that will do well in that ph though... The only ones that come to mind are vallisneria, java fern, java moss, anubias, and crypts...

High pH dosen't mean hard water. My GH is 25 ppm (very soft) yet pH out of the tap is ~7.6-8.0
