Do lead weights….

…that are wrapped around plants change water parameters somehow?

I would not put anything with lead into a tank.. Lead can leech into water and is highly toxic to fish (and people).

taking a break from fish-keeping.
3 lovely male betta still keep me company.

Agree. I know some would argue that the lead leeching from these would be miniscule, but the aquarium is a closed system and all such contaminants should be avoided always.
