I can only offer general comments on this. First one is that many forest fish will now and then nibble soft plants naturally; vegetation is frequently a part of the natural diet. I have found that characins in my tanks that have some duckweed love to nibble this; it is probably quite tasty, if you like veggies
. I don't think I've ever seen fish go after swords, Anubias, Java Fern, crypts.
I've never fed more than once a day, and often miss one day a week at that. I had this species back in the 1990's and don't remember any issues with plants, but aside from floating plants I didn't have fine or soft-leaf varieties.
