cycling with plants?

Ok well i got my 55 gallon up and cycling, im using the same filter and rocks so it shouldnt be too bad. i was just wondering wether or not i could put live plants in to help the cycling, or if they would even live before its setup. thanks

alright good, because the aponogeton bulb from my little 2.5 beta tank is getting way to big for it and it needs to be moved asap. ill go to the fish store tomorrow and get some amazon swords for the 55, does anyone know if a small pleco will eat my plants?
