That is why I am getting MTS. hehehe. I want to overpopulate the tank (my 5g) so I can get an assassin snail. Origanally, they were in my 10g. I moved them out so quickly, there isn't 1 left. I put them in my cycleing 5g. Along with MTS I got for free.

Has anyone on the forum had an assassin snail? They are beautiful! I am seriously considering haveing my LFS order 1 for me. I want the snails to breed, though. I don't know if I have enough to start with the assassin snail, though.

(BTW, Clown loaches, as well as most (if not all) loaches need to be kept in a group. 1 clown loach would be WAY to big for a 10g.)

Figured I'd add to your topic instead of creating a new one! I'm having a similar problem, only my Amazon Swords are chewed to pieces by these guys. I've found 3 different looking types so far. A swirled shelled snail, a seemingly spotted shell, and a white pointed shell. Pictures follow. Any identifications would be appreciated.

Looks like maybe rammies and MTS? Hard to tell. I got rid of my hitch-hikers (actually, I put them in another tank). It wasn't diffecult, but I removed them at a very early stage. The bottom feeders 4 cories, 1 or 2 Ghost shrimp (with occasional help from the lemon tetra) really keep the nitrates from rising (along with my massive army of hornwort and anacharis) and less food for the rammies.

All my MTS disappeared! Were did they go? It is a 5g soil substrate tank, why/how did they disappear?

Just picked up 3 Assasin Snails, hopefully they'll take care of the others! will Ghost Shrimp interfere with the assassins?

Not Ramshorns, def Ponds, Ramshorns have a vertical cylindrical shell, not oval.

Ramshorn snail - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The second one looks like a variation of the Malaysian trumpet snail.
