I have a ten gallon tank with 2 anacharis, 2 java ferns and originally a corkscrew val. The tank has two Coralife Colormax 10watt flourescents, Marineland filter head and gravel substrate. All was well for almost the first year but now the corkscrew val just keeps shedding its leaves. A replacement did the same thing. The other plants are still doing fine so I'm trying a wisteria in place of the corkscrew. Any thing I should be looking for that would have made it bad for the vals? Other than fish food and waste, there is no fertilizer in the tank; algae growth on the plants and glass is moderate and needs to be cleaned off every other week or so.
