I woke up this morning, and ALL of my fish were gasping for air at the top of the tank.

My tank had just recovered from ICH yesterday and so I replanted some plants and hooked up my DIY C02 system again.

I usually do not keep an air bubbler being that the plants do the job. But when I woke this morning the CO2 was bubbling really fast, so I turned it right off and put an airstone in there.

It has been about an hour now and they are all still at the top for air.... Tested for nitrates and all that stuff, nothing was unusual. Temperature is fine.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on or if I can do anything for them??

Help is greatly appreciated

PH was 6 ish which has been normal for my tank it was a LITTLE more acidic, but nothing crazy. Maybe it's something else, thats just all I can reason. The rasboras have started to swim around again, just waiting on the angels and rams.... here's hoping.

I may change out a small amount of water, I JUST had a big water change yesterday, so this is another reason why this surprised me so much. I'll update you guys as soon as I see a change.

Thanks for the help eh? I appreciate it.

Did a 2 gallon water change. Everyone is back to normal now, the rams are still breathing hard but they are no longer at the very top of the tank grabbing air. I think everyone will make a full recovery.

I tell you it would have sucked if I lost them today. Literally yesterday was 2 weeks since the last time I saw any ICH in my tank and had been doing 30% water changes everyday and medicating for 3 weeks. And YESTERDAY I stopped treating and put plants back in lol To go through all that to lose them would have been crappy.

Thanks for all the advice.
