can I use this fretilizer?

I bought the wrong root tabs, I see now the package says "Pond Tablets", also the nutrients are much more concentrated. Any chance I can still use these or will it cause problems? The pond tablits say 10-12-8 while the flourish tabs say 0.28-0.17-0.16 maybe if I broke the pond tablets into 20 pieces (they are larger than flourish tabs) and used fewer of them im still good, or no? I just dont want to drive back into town to get another $7 pack of root tabs, plus I already opened them. and I was just thinking, these could be much more economical since there is probably 100 times more fretilizer in there.

Sounds like a plan to me, although someone with more knowledge of the product would have to confirm that.

If I remember right it is NPK, Nitrogen/phosphate/potassium. If I am right then it seems like they have an aweful lot of phosphates in them and this could lead to a major algae bloom. The ratio is high:
10-12-8 1-1.2-.75
0.28-0.17-0.16 1-0.61-0.57

The potassium is fine but the N:P ratio is very high.

You can give them a try but I would be be very careful to make sure that they stay burried and don't get disturbed. Never know though, they might work great but have to try them to find out.

I looked at pond ferts on purpose because of the price difference and decided against them. The pond ferts were suggesting that they be repeated every month or so in a pond and I thought that anything dissolving that fast might give me trouble in my tanks. It was just my thought on it but it made me contact an on-line dry fertilizer source rather than try the pond tabs.
