I don't know how sump systems work, never having looked into them. I take it the issue is the plants getting pulled into the overflows?

Yes, this is what I anticipate being a potential problem. I will just keep an eye on the situation and start slow with the numbers of floating plants.

I ordered my lights today. I anticipate getting the tank set up in the next 10-12 days. The fish stocking list is making me crazy. It has been FOREVER since I did a freshwater tank.
