bulbs from walmart

Has anyone had experience with the bulbs from walmart? the box is labled live aquarium plants and it says they are Hardy Apongeton bulbs. I put the 5 of them in my 10 gallon aquarium which has a 10 watt fluorescent bulb. I have room for another bulb so I will get another soon. I also have a java fern. On the back of the box it says:

Live plants are essential for a well-balanced aquarium. Apongeton bulbs are one of the easiest aquarium plants to grow. They thrive in almost all water conditions. Just drop the bulbs into the aquarium and watch them grow (6" to 8" in just 15 days). As the roots develop, the plants anchor themselves or can be planted in the gravel for faster growth.
The lush green leaves provide a rich, natural background for any aquarium.
Provide them with at least 8 hours of light a day for fastest growth.
In 3 to 4 weeks your plants will have white and pink blooms. These can be cut off to promote steady plant growth.

It also says if any bulbs fail to grow you can return the bulb and proof of purchase and they will replace it.

I will take some pics if they grow. I'm hoping they will. They also had some kind of lilly bulbs there too but I just wanted to try one kind to see if they worked.

Thank you. Mine have been in there for about 24 hours and all have sunk. 3 Sunk right away but the other two floated for about half a day. I don't see any roots or anything coming out of them yet.

i think i have the same kind of bulbs as you. ive had them for a month, and i had 3, only one grew, and it reaches across the tank now. the other two sat there and grew algae. leave them in for like half a month, and if they dont have any progress, take them out. [/u]
