In my 44g tank there's tons of brown brushy algae... (I think thats what its called). I think I practically killed every Malaysian trumpet snail in my 50g when I completely cleaned it out so I want to take some big ones from my 44g and transfer them. So my question is, is brown brushy algae always present in the water and caused by an imbalance? Or is it transferred tank to tank? I don't want to bring any into my 50g if its transferable....
Black beard algae can be different shades. Is that what you have?? If so there can be different reason for it but usually its from you lights. As long as you move the snails then you won't transport to the other tank. Actually the only way you can transfer it is to move it there.
Yes I think it's black beard algae. As long as no strands or microscopic spores or something are transferred. I guess I'll wash the snails several times in the 50g water.
I wouldnt worry about moving snails. Just any plants or decor that has it on it I would.
