Prelim. Info: 28 gal, several broadleaf plants (not sure of specific species), Nova Extreme 24" 2x24W, 1x10000K, 1xfreshwater(pink), 12 hrs/day, no CO2 supplementation, 18" bubblebar, no powerhead, biowheel filter, 77 degrees, bristlenose albino pleco tries but can't keep up

Getting dark brown spots on leaves, is this due to high light and not enough CO2? If not, what? Any ideas??

If it is java fern I would not be alarmed as this is normal. You may also wish to stop aeration with bubble bar. My own expierince ,No CO2 plants are... Java fern, Sword plants, Wisteria, and crypt have shown that what little CO2 is produced without injection can be driven off with surface agitation. I also keep return from filter below water line. Plant growth is slow but sustained. If you wish to , you could run bubble wand at night and then turn it off at lights on of a morning. Plant fertilizer cubes placed in the substrate near the plant or plants also helps. You need to use low light plants or plants whose light needs ar low to moderate. :D
