Which is better?

I have white algae on my tank walls. Which would be more advisable for algae control: nerite snail or MTS, magnetic cleaner, or other? I have plants in my tank but they are not many and arent grown out enough to zap the algae of its nutrients. Its a 20 g tank btw with 7 platies and 3 guppies.

If it's white, is it algae?
I'd remove it with a razor blade.

I'd just clean it manually also.

If it is white, it is not any type of algae. Could be a fungus of some type. I would definitely scrape all of it off. But before you do, can you post a photo? Might clue us in more.

Its really hard to get a picture of it because its faint and you have to look at the tank kind of at an angle to see it. At first I thought it was hydra but now I'm not sure and feels a bit slimy to the touch. It stlill looks like an inside out jellyfish with no tentacles that sways in the current. I'm gonna scrape it off and reduce light exposure to see if it helps. At least none of my fish are fuzzy but I did just get over a bought of ick, however, this was there before the ick.

I crush hydra with my hands, and boy do they feel slimy.
They ball up into oval shapes.
