Best place to order plants?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a good place to buy plants. Back a few years ago it seemed the forum favorite was sweet aquatics. It seems like they are gone now. :(

Anyways, I really just want one plant... Jungle vallisneria, but I can't seem to find it at any nearby fish stores, even though its supposed to be common! Does anyone know of any places with fairy cheap shipping? I don't wanna pay 15$ just to ship one plant. Or maybe I'd be better off asking in the aquarium classified sections?

Thanks!

Yes I heard it grows quickly! Well, I posted on the aquarium classified section. I guess I'll see if anyone would do me a favor. :D

Also still open to suggestions if there's any cheap places. :) I can't imagine they'd need more than a little padded envelope.

I had a bad experience with Sweet Aquatics but they were cheap. There won't be any places online that you are going to find cheap shipping. Best bet is to find a fellow tanker that has it and is willing to some. I use to have that plant and it did great for me but they get freaking huge!!! I got mine from Pet Supplies and Fish Supplies at That Fish Place - That Pet Place 2 years ago but shipping wasn't cheap through I also got several other plants as well.

I think that your bad experience was around the same time mine was a couple if years back. When I was getting ready to order plants for the current tank I was searching for places to order from and my search on sweet aquatics showed that around that time they seemed to be having a lot of problems and they finally went out of business.

i had awesome experience with AquariumPlants.com.
When I ordered my plants for my current tank went with them. Because I did a large order I didn't have to pay much for shipping. For a small order shipping can be pretty steep since they do flat rates based on how much you are ordering. My experience with them was good. Did have some plants missing but a quicl call to customer service squared it away and recieved the rest of my plants the following week.

Thanks I guess for now I'll see if I can find anyone who has some. I actually saw one vallisneria at petco but I didn't know the variety and it was covered in green hair algae and looked kind of neglected.. I'd have to cut half the plant away and pray that it made it. What is the common variety that stores carry?

Also when I ordered from sweet aquatics I got really healthy plants. I read a thread at some point somewhere and it sounded like they went downhill in their customer service and quality (heard it was due to weather or something partly?) and apparently eventually went out of business. :( shame.
