Aquarium in need of an upgrade
First of all hello to everyone on here it's been a while since I posted any news. My question is I have an aquarium that was lit up by a (2)T5 light fixture and a compact flourescent light. The tank is a 90 gallon tank that now is lighted solely by the compact flourescent light it has 130 watts of light on it and the tank is planted and I'm supposed to get some plants today I bought online. The plants arriving today are for higher lighted aquarium and I know my lighting will be very low for these plants as they were grown under I believe it was 2-watts per gallon and I only have 1.4 watts over my tank now. Looking to give my aquarium better lighting and want to add some better lighting and not to sure about the lighting out there today as most of the fixtures are L.E.D's. So if anyone that has experience with these light fixtures and how they rate to plant life care to share there experience it will be greatly appreciated. I know that the prices are pretty pricey but energy costs will also be down. I do plan on keeping the compact flourescent in place as well to get full use of this fixture since it still is running. As to what happen to my T5 well lets say the fixture went into retirement it has given up it's ballast I believe burnt out and with the price of a new ballast I may be better off buying a new light fixture. I do still have the light fixture though so if anyone can give me a recommendation as to what I should do then go ahead I'm all open ears to your information. My aquarium is 48"w x 18"d x24"h. There will be some low light plants in this tank as well as the new high lighted plants. I will post after recieving the plants after they arrive to species. For now I have various crypts, baby tears, anubias, java fern, windelov, amazon swords, crispus, etc... The list goes on there are high lighted plants as well in this tank and have not been growing to well so this is why I have to get the new fixture.
