API Root Tabs, cloudy water

I have a 20g tank with about 10 leaves worth of Anubias. I have constantly had leaf edges turn yellow. I tried several lighting scenarios and concluded it wasn't a light issue. I had been using Aqueon plant food and assumed I had a nutrient deficiency. I got API Root Tabs and after putting them in my water got very cloudy. It doesn't seem to bother the fish and I can live with it assuming it will clear on its own. Is this dangerous for the fish?

Anubias get their nutrients from the water column so root tabs which go in the substrate probably wouldn't do much for them.

Don't think it will hurt the fish any. I have heard this before about API root tablets. Now that you have them in the substrate don't mess with them it makes it worse. The cloudy water should clear up. Just do a couple of water changes.

Do you have the Anubias directly under the lights or are they shaded?

Agree with others on the API tabs.

Anubias is a slow growing plant, so it does not need a lot of nutrients. A basic liquid will supply the essentials. Flourish Comprehensive Supplement or Brightwell Aquatics' FlorinMulti will both do it. These have everything and in the proper balance.

Substrate ferts will have no benefit as someone mentioned.

Byron.
