I'm really wondering how long I should give my plants time to respond to the new set up / when I'll see first "results" well or hopefully "no results" as in plants dieing off....

I was thinking the same thing. I would think it wouldn't happen in a day or two. I'm thinking 2x20w will work okay. It's between the 60w you originally had with success, and the 30w you're trying now. I'll give your tank some time though

So far so good here...and today I'll have PLENTY time watching my tanks cause I'm starting to get snowed in lol
