well its been 24hrs since the scrub down and new changes. the water is still a bit foggy but is no worse then it was yesterday after the waterchange and I am also seeing new growth on all of the plants. looks like I am on my way to balance here hopefully. still going to try and get my hands on some floaters since they would look better then cardboard strips across the top.

well the tank is looking atlot better and is a bit more clear then yesterday, the growth is also still going strong and is back to where it was before the algae started in the first place. however my dwarf temple plant shed most of its underside leafs and just has the tops left. thinking this is because its happier and getting rid of the old infected leafs? or maybe a victim of excel? added it at the recommended dose and am adding the "booster dose" every other day.

Well, you're definitely going through a transition. Wouldn't do any harm to just leave them in the tank and see what happens even if they lose all their leaves. They might come back like gangbusters all acclimated to the conditions in your tank. Hope it works out well for you.

so its been since wendsay since the last w/c and the water stayed pretty clear for a few days but is back to where it was before the w/c. I have only uised a single dose of flourish sionce the last w/c on weds. the plants are all doing well except for the dwarf temple.

so seems the w/c was a temp fix but the gwa came back to where it was before. however it took it longer to get where it was since it first showed up. more fast growing plants with the floaters IS the best way to go about clearing this stuff out right?

Green water is a huge pita XD some people have had luck with algae fix, but from what I read, it may or may not affect your fish :/

I would recommend to try daily excel dosing for a while.

It worked for me with my pond. You'll still want to do your more frequent water changes until you get the GW under control. Are you still doing the Excel ?

I am doing every other day excel dose, seems to have slowed the green water speed of growth and increased the plants. it showed up when I dopuble dosed flourish the other week and now I cant get rid of it. excel with no flourish for a week maybe?

but from what I read GWA can adapt and use any nutrient that's avilaible in excess.
