On the clown pleco, i just revised the profile yesterday as it was missing information. The territorial issue is more related to males, I think I may have missed that. I've not kept this particular species of loricariid, but I have kept others. Unless you want the interest of spawning them, a single fish is probably better. But one thing was clear in my research for the profile--this is a very shy fish. One source said if you want a fish you will never see, fine, but otherwise, try something else. Might have been an exaggeration, but...

Byron.
Ok, thanks Byron!

Exclamation Runners!!

My crockscrew val is spending out runners, but into my creeping jenny. I don't want to move my creeping jenny or val, but I think I will have to move one. I'm more willing to move the val.

Once it is settled--as it seems to be--Vallisneria will send out runners continually, stretching throughout the entire substrate and back again. Obviously this is easy to control, just cut them off when they get to where you don't want them, and during each week's water change can be necessary. Pygmy chain sword and similar plants are much the same. But it is nice to have plants growing so well we need to cut them back, rather than struggling.

Yesterday, I started messing with the tank. I moved a few plants, regrouped others, and removed the piece of driftwood on the right. I'm thinking of letting plants fill that out and plus the melon sword will have more room to grow.

Exclamation Snails!!

Sorry still no pics, I'm sick I stayed home from school and everything. The problem is that my tank is over run with snails!! I know they can be helpful, but there's waaaaayyy too many!! I also think they have been eating my val, the tips are torn, while the plants is healthy. Is there are to get rid of them? There's also green algae on my sand which must likely means I'm waaay overdue for a water change, but I haven't had time. My grandma's sick and we've spent the past weekends at her house which is 45min away. Hopefully I have time later in the week. Next week my mom's on vacation so she's going to try to get to me to my lfs to get some fish. I'm thinking of getting 7 Rummy nose tetras, I want a total of 11.
