10 gallon carpeting and other plant suggestions

I have a 10 gallon with 2 compact fluorescent 15w bulbs and was wanting an easy, low maintenance carpet plant I have pool sand as substrate but also have extra gravel if I need to put that in.
as of now I have an anubius plant and a java fern and soon will be getting an Anacharis Plant a frill plant and maybe a corkscrew vallisneria

any thoughts or comments appreciated.
thanks

How about some Dwarf Baby Tears (Hemianthus callitrichoides)? I have some in my tank, but I think my Cory has been nibbling on it. When grown out, it's gorgeous as a carpeting plant.

Thanks! Will check it out and its ok if my fish nibble as long as they don't eat it all and where did you buy the plant from?

Pygmy chain sword or Dwarf Sagittaria are both good in small tanks. These are low plants but not "carpets" as such, but still a nice addition. I use them as carpets in my larger tanks. Click the shaded names to see the profiles with photos.

Dwarf baby tears i do not think will work with incandescents. I do not think the spectrum are correct and, in my experience, they really need strong light to grow well. Ive only been able to get them to grow in my tanks under t5-HOs. I had incandesents on my edge and my HC all died. When I switched to a fluorescent strip and LEDS, they started to grow.

I have a ton of it. it grows very fast when it gets established. However, it needs strong light to stay compact. Otherwise, it grows very tall, mine are around 1.5-2.5 inches tall in my high light tanks and almost 5 inches in my medium light tanks.

Why not just swap out the incandescents with some screw-in CFL's? They sell them in wal-mart in the fish section.
