I have brought in some pondweed (candian pondweed i think) from outside and have put it into a container to let it grow before entering the aquarium. Should i do anything to the weed to secure the saftey of my fish?
Thanks
If it were me (and it's not!) I would treat it before ever thinking of putting it in my tank. There could be all type of critters living in it. I would treat with potassium permagante to kill any unwanted organisms that may me living in the water you took the weed from. PP is very staning so if you use this product be very careful, as it will turn anything it comes into contact with purple! I wore gloves when I used it.
No, just your hands if you don't wear gloves. Also, try not to spill it on concrete like I did. I should have done my PP dip on the lawn and not my driveway! lol.
