Hi Mike,
that's 2x10w over your 10g right (maybe a lil high, so in case you need to replace bulbs any time; keep that in mind and get lower 7w one's)? Do you know Kelvin or Lumen ratings of these bulbs?

There's not enough "plant matter" just yet here on this end; I just set up 4 new tanks in Nov-Dec last year - Gimme few more weeks before its plant - outcrowded

Plant ideas for that set up from my end:
Kleiner Bar Sword; Narroleaf Chain Sword; Any Cryptocoryne (I pref the Wedtii for its red color); Anubias if you have Driftwood in there to attach them to; Java Fern
That's all easier plants and also some that won't grow out of your tank within 1 week; get 1-2 (or 3) of these and you'd be all set.

You can gladly check my aquarium log out here to the left under my name too; see what tank you like best and I can walk you through what's all planted in them (never listed all plants so far sorry).

Those were the only bulbs available other than incandescent at walmart so I got them. Ill admit it is brighter than I think I would like to see it. Ill keep my eye out for some lower wattage bulbs but it seems that the plant I have growing is loving it. Its really taken off! Here is what I put in for plant bulbs, Aponogeton Ulvaceus and Nymphaea Lotus Green. I dont know what the kelvin rating is nor the lumens produced by these bulbs. I looked on the package but it didnt say, just said full spectrum. Ill pull a bulb out and see what the bulb has written on it in a second.

Also, you dont have a tank that I dont like. They are all beautiful! I guess Im looking for a good background plant as I think I know what I want for foreground plants, just cant think of the name off the top of my head but i think its the same as the ones you have in your new shrimp farm. I also have that one unnammed fern thing I bought in the plastic container lol.

Sorry to cut in, but if you don't mind me asking, what is the large almost viney plant in your rainbow 55? It looks amazing. Once I get my lighting upgraded I would definitely like to get that going in my rainbow setup as well.

I hadn't pers seen these bulbs; but will look once I'm not snowed in any more at our Walmart if I can find these & read what they are.
I'm *assuming* since they're daylights they're something like 5-6500 K rated. If you compare the tank light to your normal ceiling lights it should look more blueish and less yellowish like your normal room lights would be!?

For the back of a 10g its hard as any Vallis will grow like 4 times the height of a 10g....Maybe a Stem plant like Ludwigia for some color in there?

The newest shrimp farm with the light colored sand (not the black) that has Dwarf Hairgrass (2 pots) in it for the fronts and Java ferns for the back.
