White Transparent Blobs on Bamboo Stalks (Please Identify)
Hi all, I was just wondering if anybody could help me identify a new growth in my tank.
First of all, it is a 120 gallon freshwater tank that has been going for two weeks. It is planted, and I recently put EcoComplete in... I have changed the water twice since and it is crystal clear. I also have a broken flower pot in the tank and several real bamboo stalks. Finally, there are eight ghost shrimp, four red cherry shrimp, and five neon tetras currently inhabiting the tank. I know about the fishless cycle, so let's not go there, that's not what this thread is about.
Now the growth is existing in a very few locations, but most noticably on the bamboo stalks. It is transparent, but slightly white with the little coloring it does have. It is very delicate looking and almost jelly-fish like in that it is congelled (not hair like at all). Can anybody tell me what this is, where it comes from, and how I can get rid of it? It's not a problem now, but I don't want it to become a problem either.
Thanks a ton (and hopefully I can answer some questions for others looking for advice in the near future),
