Where to get Pure ammonia?

Hi guys. I got some bad news. I'm not going to upgrade due to the fact that I live in a really small apartment and I don't have the room to put in my 10 gallon. My mom disapprovs of me having the 20 gallon. She said to wait until you get your own place or whenever she could find a larger place.

So now my question is, where I could find pure ammonia. I want to set up one of the 2.5 gallon tanks and used them for either putting my apple snail in there once it's done cycling or to put a betta in( Yeah I'm also interested on keeping bettas. One betta cannot stop stare at me at the pet store today.). My local family dollar and Walgreens sells ammonia, but it have the perfume nd things and I don't know if the dollar store near me sells pure ammonia. Any other place I can go to find pure ammonia like a home depot or something? I'm thinking of doing a fishless cycle this time.

Thanks. I'm getting paid in 2 weeks. I just got paid Friday and it's not a really big check.

I don't know the Chicago area at all but their website can direct you to a number of different stores in your area:

Oh I see one near me. Thanks Aunt kymmie. ^^

Hi guys. Heres the used 2 gallon hex soon to be betta tank set up. I set it up today after I went to blick( an artstore I bought a pack of pens which were the most expensive one), petco and family dollar. :P I bought the mini heater and a filter/ air pump kit, but I only used 2 of them. I set the new filter aside for now..

Please forgive me on this, but I only had the room for the 2 gallon. :( It's currently sitting on the floor next to the big 10 gallon(Which the 10 gallon is on a table. I called it big now because it seems large comparing to this tiny 2 gallon) and the fake plant was also came from the 10 gallon.

It's safe to use pure ammonia to cycle? How much would you use per gallon? Are there any articles here on the forums with instructions on doing this? I'm very interested, since I'm setting up my 125 currently.

Yup. Ace hardware stores should have it. Heres an article on cycling a tank:

Well I got pure ammonia today. The tank was sitting for 2 days now. When I should start using the ammonia? This is the levels so far after 2 days.

Ammonia: 0.5
Nitrite: 0.25-0.5
Nitrate: 5.0

I went to WTF land when I saw those results..

I redone the tank with a new filter and new water and took out the undegravel filter. The reason because after reading about it, I decided I don't want to use it. Basically I restarted the cycle. Now, where did I start putting in the ammonia? in 2 days? 3 days? I bought all of the supplies now so I'm now ready to outsmart the cycle. The temperature is now 82 degrees F.
