when to add plants?

I'm still cycling my 30g - I'm in the midst of the nitrite spike - and I'm wondering when I can start adding my plants? Do ammonia and nitrite levels affect plants or can i just add them whenever?

Thanks!

You can add them whenever you want to; ammonia, nitrite and nitrate won't harm the plants. Actually, plants will use ammonia and nitrate (and a little nitrite) to grow so they'll actually be helpful. They also provide more surfaces for beneficial bacteria, further helping your aquarium become established.
