dont use a undergravel filter they get cloged and you have to take a part the tank. power fliters are good

What type of filter do you have now?
What size is your tank?

ah that sound good!! :D
at he moment its just the standard filter that was in the tank when i brought it. dunno what you call it, the water is sucked up one pipe, pushed through the sponge and stones then falls back in the tank, if ya get what i mean?!?!?!?
the tank is about 55 us gallons.

I have a 55us gallon and I run two whisper power filters (they hang on the back) 330gallons per hour each.

But you should only need one I use two due to the type of fish I have.

As suggested above I would stay away from the undergravel.

If your not happy with your filter you could also go with a canister filter which sits under your tank inside the stand..

Are you having a problem with your current filter?
If not I wouldnt worry about getting a new one. My OH can explain the canister filter better than I. You could also do a google search for Rena canister filters and get all the info you need on them.

yeah i'll do that. my filter is working but (dunno if you've look my post about my water) the water is just no where as clear as it used to be. i have changed the filter sponge so it cant be that. just thought that praps a stronger filter might be better at keeping the water crystal clear again!!!
