What kind of fish is this?

Well..I told my friend to get me a neon tetra and he gets this...


What kind of fish is it?

My bettas-
1 Crown Tail Male- Star
1 Crown Tail Male Solid Red Blue Iridescent- Fuji

That looks like a glowlight tetra. Try googling some pictures and seeing if they look similar. The picture isn't very good but it definitely looks like a tetra.

Definatelly a glowlight tetra, very hardy can survive a cycle.

Yes, it is a Glowlight Tetra, Hemigrammus erythrozonus scientifically; have a look at the profile (click the shaded name). I hope you have more than one, this fish like all tetra needs a group of 6 minimum, though 5 would do if space is restricted. It is a shoaling fish, and will be very stressed and waste away without more of its species.

I actually only have one..I told my friend to get me a neon tetra because i have some already. What should I do?

depending on the size of your tank, either get some more Glowlights or if your lfs will allow it, give him back/ trade in for another neon.

Cant get any more fish in the tank its def at its limits and the petstore will not let me

its a 10 gallon with :

3 platties
2 neon tetras
1 glowlight tetra
1 oto catfish
1 inca snail

and one live plant, I had more but 2 died. Im hoping to get 2 more
