Tetra liquid test kit is good and tests for everything except nitrate... idk why.

+1 mollies. Mine came with tests for ph, high range ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and four glass test tubes, and i think it was for like 30 bucks. I bought it a year ago and still have half the bottles left if not more..

Agreed on the API kit. You can get it for about $20 (sometimes less if it's on sale) on the internet. The Tetra kit is cheaper but doesn't have the nitrate test.
