Question Water Test Kits??

Can you guys recommend a really good water test kit? I have the test strips from my LFS but have a hard time getting an accurate reading in my opinion. The color variations are too varying for my old tired eyes. Isn't there a more accurate kit to test your aquarium waters with out there? I read where some of you guys here give actual numbers as to your tank water measurement properties?? Thanks again for any input!

API master kit is what I use for my freshwater and API reef Master for my Saltwater.

Nutrafin make a good test kit also.

10g Fry / Hospital / QT tank (as needed)

75g Saltwater Reef, Ocellaris Clownfish, Lyretail Antias (baby), Lemon damsel, Longtail Fairy Wrasse, purple dottyback, snails, crabs and a few LPS corals.

220g Still sitting empty (come on Lottery I need the numbers to come up!)

I agree on the API kits, you can get one off Amazon for $25.

It has pH, high range pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrates. The only issue I have with it is the pH, I swear 6.8, 7.0, and 7.2 are all the same color no mater what kind of light I use to look at it =p

These are liquid tests so more involved than strips, but not bad and tend to be more accurate. Nitrates are the only one that is bothersome as it requires you to shake for a couple minutes to ensure it's fully mixed.

+1 on the API test kits. Like Geomancer suggested, you can find them cheaper online than in most of your pet stores.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.
