Water temperature in Florida summers....
Good evening everybody! ^-^
I live in Florida (please don't be jealous, jk jk). My tank is in a large room upstairs. It is the only room on the second story and because it is so large, has its own heating and cooling unit. The airconditioning upstairs is only on while people are upstairs. I love to come up here in the evenings and read while watching my fish.
My question is, that when the air is not on, it can easily get up to 90 degrees upstairs, my submersible thermometer in my tank also says this. If I put the air on enough to make it bearable for me, the temperature will go down to 78-80 degrees. I have not timed how long it takes to drop this much, I only left the air on overnight and checked the next day to see that the temp had decreased. Should I be worried about my fish?
I just invested in some live plants also and am thinking that I am supposed to leave the lamp on all the time...does that also contribute to the temp of the water? Do I really need to leave it on?
