Hi Everyone it's been a while.
I Recently filled my 150 Gal. I Let it run for a week and heated it up to a nice 27 degrees Celcius ( 80.6 ferenheit) and all was well So i added my 1st batch of tetras (serpae longfin tetra). But over the week it's slowly droped down to 24 (75.2). I have a 300 watt (whale) heater and put it to 26 when the water temperature hit 25 (77 ferenheit) and it still droped another degree, and it seems to be slowly dipping into the 23 range. My biggest worry right now is that form what I've been reading below 24 is bad for my tetras.
My basement is 22 (71.6 ferenheit) right now. The tank is 6 ft long 18 inches wide and about 26-30 inches high. Should I just turn up the temperature to 28-29 degrees (82-84 ferenheit) or should I pourchase a second heater. The max temp for the heater i have is 30 (86 ferenheit) degrees if it helps.
P.s. I am sure it's not broken because it does glows red when i turn the dial up nice and high to make sure that it still works..
What should I do??
