My tank has been going since Jan 12th 2k7. We have 2 swords and 2 mollies now. Ammonia is at safe level. It might be because of ph regulator i put in to lower ph to 7.0. PH is 7.4. Nitrites 1.0 and Nitrates 10.0 Fish are all happy. Are these levels ok? I'm not sure we are through the cycle yet. I have been putting in CYCLE for a week or so. I even used a WHOLE 16oz bottle to no avail. Changed out 9 gallons 2 weeks or so ago. My tank is 29 gallons also. Ideas? Thoughts? Thanks!
hmm, you have the right idea but your doing it the wrong way. Im guessing your trying to cycle your tank right?
Those levels are no good, if your ph is high, dont add anything to lower it, leave it that high, if its low, leave it low, most fish keepers tend to stay away from changing ph.
Your nitrite levels are very high, i reccomend you doing a 50% water change now and 10-15% daily until they are almost or completely gone.
You will need to do at least 25% weekly water changes when cycling and when your tank is done cycling
What was the 16 oz. bottle thing? like what was it? and I agree with musho, changing the pH is generally a hassle, and make sure you keep up with water changes to keep nitrites down
the 16oz bottle is cycle which is meant to speed up cycling
