Agree with what's been suggested. But I would question the use of Vita-Chem.
My approach is never to add a substance to a fish tank unless it is essential. A conditioner to dechlorinate water is essential. Fertilizer for plant growth is often needed, depending upon other sources of nutrients, and it can't hurt fish if used according to the directions on the product. I use Flourish myself.
Anything beyond the above is likely un-necessary. I've never used Vita-Chem, so I looked it up and from what I can see about the purpose and what's in it, I would not use it. There is certainly no need for it, and it contains a number of chemical substances I would rather didn't get into my aquarium. It's claim that it is essential for better fish colouring is suspect; fish colour is primarily dependent upon what they eat, and a balanced nutritional food selection will do more for that. Plus keeping chemicals out of their water, as these can be stressful and stress can cause loss of colour.
