Water changes / add prime then tap water?

I have been using buckets for water changes in my 55 gallon and treating the new water with prime. Though while searching for a way to make water changes go a bit easier and faster, I keep seeing equipment such as Python. There are lots of posts saying they just dose prime to the tank then fill it back up straight from the faucet or hose. Now while this sounds ideal I worry about the fish being exposed to chlorine and such before prime has a chance to work.

Anyone handle water changes like this? Good or bad experiences?

That's how you do it. Water conditioner works instantly, and almost all brands contain the exact same active ingredient so you do not have to use Prime if you don't want to. It's concentrated, which is nice, but does contain additional chemicales for binding ammonia/nitrite.

Once again, thanks for the help! Good to hear, as this will save me time as well as my back. A 30%-50% water change using buckets is a slight pain...

thats the easyest way. I change 35-50% at a time right out a window then run my garden house in fill it up add the prime and good to go
