IMP, it would be better/easier to just buy a regular gravel cleaner, works as a syphon. (no batteries needed) This will clean your gravel and remove water at the same time.

One like Angle posted. I do not believe there is any way to hook up a hose to the one you bought. It is designed for gravel cleaning only.

Yeah thats about right 15 pounds isn bad at all but you can get a battery run one that just runs lyk a filter you hold over the stones most fish stores have them and the replacement bags

yeah i got the eheim battery powerd 1 for $99.99 and its spposed to be top of the range. it should be here by wednesday. i will take pics and and let you guys know how it performes.

It has both but the bag is handy if the water is reli merky as you can only take out so much with a water change so you can place the bag on it instead of the hose and filter the water thru the bag and back into the tank
