+1, the evenness is the critical part, you don't want any void areas where the weight loading is.

would the towel aid in this at all? since it makes sort of a cushion for the tank to rest? or not at all? :P

i don't think it would make a difference either way. it should add even padding all around, so it would still be softer where there is a gap.

So I checked the stand and its perfectly level. Should I also check the floor? Wouldn't the stand be unlevel if the floor was?

I kept having dreams last night of my new tank cracking, haha. How silly is that?

Anyways, I got my new tank and my plants arrived.. So here's what it looks like now! Still cloudy since I just filled her up yesterday night. :(
